In The News
**Just a reminder that Kindergarten's last day of school is Friday, June 1, 2012.
Please remember to drop your child off in the cafeteria in the morning. The kids are really trying to work on being independent and walking to the classroom by themselves to get them ready for first grade. Parents should not be dropping off their child at the classroom unless there is something that needs to be communicated to me.
Week of May 21st -
Reading - We are reading our last story, Animal Homes and we will be drawing conclusions from the pictures we see in the text. We will be doing a science activity of where animals live. We will also be spending the week reviewing short vowels and writing sentences with the correct punctuation. We will do another word challenge with the short vowel /i/. The new high score to beat is 104! We will be working with initial blends and diagraphs throughout the week. We will also be talking about Memorial Day and making a book about Memorial Day. We will be writing in our journals about their favorite animal and where they would live if they were that animal. We will also be taking our last unit reading test at the end of the week depending on our crazy schedule with a sports assembly and fun in the sun day.
Math - We will be reviewing patterns, money, telling time, addition and subtraction with fun activities outside, depending on the weather.
Religion - We will be completing our last chapter on Jesus teaching us how to pray.
Art: No art due to Fun in the Sun on Friday.
** Days to look forward to: May 25th = Fun in the Sun Day. A flyer was sent home for any parents who are interested/willing to volunteer that day. This is a free casual day; no tank tops or flip flops/sandals. The kids will be outside playing games so please dress them accordingly.
Have a great weekend!
